Some New Year's Eve rockets and fountains whistle because of the way they are designed. The whistling sound is created by the rocket or fountain as it shoots into the air and releases gas or sparks. Additionally, the whistling sound can also help to capture the attention of the audience and create a festive atmosphere during the New Year's Eve celebration. **
